What customers say?

“ The food all tasted fresh! Very generous with the portion too. The ocean view looks calming. We loved the service of Liam too! He ensured that we are enjoying our food :) Glad we did dine today considering it's public holiday today!! ”

“ Once again we were not disappointed in our meal, service and that view. Plus the friendliness from the staff. The wind and the rain didn’t stop us from going to Chiton Restaurant for an evening out with friends. Thank you to the staff ”

“ Such a charming place to dine with the ever changing ocean views and train passing by. Fantastic food of high quality. The friendly chef is passionate and thoughtful about the food presentation and taste. We loved our lunch experience today and appreciate the all day dining and being able to eat a late lunch. Thank you chef!! We will be back! Such peaceful atmosphere and so relaxing. Thank you ”

“ I visited Chiton rock surf club and it was honestly so good. They had proper gluten-free options that didn’t feel like an afterthought — my meal was so fresh and flavourful. It’s one of the first places where the gluten-free version actually tasted just as good as the regular menu. The atmosphere was perfect too. The café sits right by the water, so you get this gorgeous ocean view while you eat. Sunlight, sea breeze, and seriously good food which is a great combo. If you’re looking for a spot that caters really well to dietary needs without sacrificing flavour, and you want a beautiful view with your breakfast, Beach Breakfast Club is definitely worth it. ”

“ Absolutely beautiful meals. Perfectly cooked fillet steak and seafood platter. Great service and good range of drinks. Loved the live acoustic tunes and views which just makes this place a stand-up. Highly recommend. ”

“ Not long ago, I discovered the Chiton Restaurant above the SLSC at Chiton Rocks. My first impression as I took the lift up to the first floor, and entered the Restaurant, was a feeling of spaciousness. The 180 degree views of the sea and coastline from the dining area was uniquely picturesque and initially ‘Breathtaking’. I have eaten lunch there once, and I ordered the ‘White-Bait’, which is hard to find on the menu at Restaurants on the Fleurieu. I have also gone there for Coffees and Cakes about three times. The Coffee is GREAT and the Cakes are made In-House and VERY TASTY. Today I UNASHAMEDLY drank 2 Coffees and ate 2 Dense Chocolate Cakes and did lots of talking and laughing there. Friday is like that for me. Usually I don’t drink coffee during the week, but on Fridays, I load-up on coffees and cakes and after that, I feel really good. Doing that, usually scratches my coffee-itch for another week..lol It’s important for me to have good coffee and you can get it at The Chiton Restaurant. The proprietors Philip and Cass are gentle, polite folk, as are the waiting staff. It’s a pleasure to talk to them. You most likely understand the concept of ‘Good-Energy’, so let me say that The Chiton Restaurant is overflowing with a ‘Good-Energy’ that permeates into the food. I recommend the Restaurant for both Coffee, and Cakes and Seafood. If you are a local, you will understand the concept of supporting local businesses that you want to remain in your area. If you are a visitor to The Fleurieu, you will be able to ‘take a load off’ and relax in a pleasant atmosphere with an amazing view. Either way The Chiton Restaurant is definitely worth visiting. ”

“ We’ve been here for dinner… the personnel were very friendly and helpful. The food …. Oh the food … Philip and his crew just served us a delicious and tasting Squid and Fish & Chips … very good and prepared with expertise and stile …. 5 star as a minimum !!! ”
